History India Blockbuster

Dhu - run - dhar

The biggest Bollywood movie of 2025.

Let’s jump right to it —

Is it really necessary to show these types of violence on television? The more you show, the more you normalize it. Plus, some of the scenes really could have been removed.

My honest take is, just because it was the biggest blockbuster doesn’t mean it is a really good movie.

Remove Akshaye Khanna from it — now what? Truth be told, after a point I was just watching the movie, waiting for Akshaye Khanna’s role throughout. Some masterclass acting there. Superb delivery of dialogues.

Ranveer Singh was good, but unlike 98% of the population, I’m not a really big fan. His acting is good. He is more chill in person — why can’t he play such roles too? Everyone comments on how versatile he is. When will he play a normal role? Lol.

Sanjay Dutt is too much now with these type of roles! Anyway, he did a good job as always.

Surely these types of movies can be rewatched once every two years.

What I liked?

  • I don’t like watching documentaries. But add good storytelling and a Bollywood-esque feel to it, then it’s really something. The movie did a good job of connecting to our dark recent histories, which we may have forgotten. Then it added masala to it, which I don’t know how much is true. But anyway, really good job on it.

  • The item song was really something. Sometimes item songs are just loud, with a very big icon performing in them. This was not that. It was much better.

  • Nice music and songs. Two months have passed, and we are still actively listening to them.

Verdict - 7
